The main task of the CSTO will be the implementation of the Targeted Interstate Program (TIP) aimed at strengthening the Tajik-Afghan border. This decision was made by the heads of state in November 2024. This was reported by the Secretary General of the Organization, Taalatbek Masadikov, in an interview with the publication "Allies. CSTO".
Currently, the Organization is already actively participating in the implementation of the first stage of this program.
Masadikov noted that the lists of weapons, military equipment, and border security means that will be transferred to the Border Troops of Tajikistan are currently being clarified and agreed upon. The circle of suppliers is also being determined, and contracts are being coordinated.
