According to Masadykov, the main task of the organization is to maintain peace and stability in the member states, as well as to create conditions for their safe development and prosperity. To achieve these goals, the CSTO has all the necessary tools.
“Particular concern is raised by the approach of ‘zones of instability’ to the borders of the states that are part of the CSTO. In such conditions, we continue to strengthen our role in this important military-political structure,” he noted.
In more than three decades of the Treaty’s existence, the CSTO has managed to prevent or mitigate numerous crises within its borders. Masadykov emphasized that the priority remains on preventive and political-diplomatic measures, as well as openness to cooperation with other countries and organizations that share common goals and principles.
