In the village of Novopavlovka, a meeting took place on February 1 between local residents and the mayor of Bishkek, Aybek Junushaliev. The main topic of discussion was the citizens' concern regarding the fate of the cemetery, which may be affected by the road expansion on Profsoyuznaya Street.

The recording of the meeting is actively being shared on social media. One resident expressed a request: “We hope that a solution can be found that does not involve our cemetery. Is there such a possibility?”
In response, the mayor of the capital noted that there had been cases of reburial in the past and urged residents not to make exceptions. “Why do you always want to bypass the rules? If I started demolishing someone’s house, you would all be outraged: ‘How can this be!’ But when it comes to yours, you consider it unfair,” added Junushaliev.

During the meeting, one of the officials urged those present not to panic and read a letter from Olga Olshanskaya addressed to the Ministry of Transport and Communications, inquiring whether the road would pass through the cemetery.

Talantbek Soltobaev, who at that time held the position of First Deputy Minister of Transport, confirmed that according to the approved project documentation, the cemetery area is not affected by the project.

Nevertheless, residents remain skeptical about this and once again strongly request to leave the cemetery alone.
