Investors show interest in solar panel projects in Kyrgyzstan – Ministry of Energy

During a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, plans for launching solar panel production in Kyrgyzstan were discussed. During the discussion, Deputy Altynbek Kylchbaev asked about the current status of work on establishing such enterprises in the country.

Deputy Minister of Energy Altynbek Rysbekov responded that there are currently no solar panel manufacturing plants in the republic, but work in this area has already begun.

Kylchbaev also noted that quartzite is necessary for production, from which monocrystalline silicon is made. He suggested that the State Enterprise "Kristall" could organize the production of technical quartzite, polycrystalline silicon, and monocrystalline silicon.

"Many regions express interest in installing solar panels. I have negotiated with designers, and about 1 billion soms of investment will be needed to launch production. In addition to solar panels, other products can also be manufactured at the plants. Each of the four planned factories could employ about 6,000 people," Kylchbaev reported.

Furthermore, the Deputy Minister of Energy added that investors are showing active interest in the implementation of solar panels, and the ministry is ready to support such initiatives.
