
At a recent press conference in Istanbul, Turkey's Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy announced impressive results for the tourism sector in 2025. According to the provided data, the country welcomed 64 million foreign guests, generating an income of 65 billion 231 million dollars — an absolute record for the country.
Ersoy noted that Turkey is confidently strengthening its position in the international tourism market and has become one of the leading travel destinations. As a strategic goal for 2026, the minister outlined a plan to increase tourism revenue to 68 billion dollars.
The minister also emphasized that Turkey's tourism industry is significantly expanding, covering not only beach holidays. The country is actively developing cultural and religious tourism, eco-routes, medical and thermal tourism, gastronomy, as well as congress activities and winter resorts.
Among the successful projects are the initiatives "Heritage for the Future" and "Night Museums," aimed at preserving and promoting Turkey's cultural heritage.
There is also a growing interest in Turkey among citizens of Kyrgyzstan: in 2025, 199,280 Kyrgyzstani travelers visited the country, which is an 8% increase compared to the previous year. The ministry noted that this indicates a stable interest among citizens in Turkey as one of the main tourist destinations.
