A group of international experts in road safety and transport reforms has officially expressed support for the actions of the President of Kyrgyzstan. Their response followed his public address regarding the tragic death of three family members in a traffic accident.

Experts noted that the open discussion of such tragic events by the president is a bold step in politics. It shows society that road safety issues are not just about numbers, but about human lives.

David Meskhishvili, president of the Eurasian Vehicle Inspection Network (EVIN), emphasized full support for the Vision Zero concept, which will be implemented in Kyrgyzstan. This principle is based on the idea that no human life should be lost for the sake of mobility.

Experts are confident that the use of transparent digital systems for monitoring and control will significantly reduce the number of traffic accidents. As a successful example, they cited Georgia, where the modernization of the technical inspection system and the introduction of modern standards helped reduce the number of casualties and injuries in traffic accidents by 25 percent.

The international team is ready to share its experience and knowledge with the state structures of Kyrgyzstan to ensure the safety of citizens and promote the sustainable development of the transport system.

In Kyrgyzstan, a presidential decree has suspended the licenses of all private driving schools until August 2026, meaning that training will only take place in state institutions. Additionally, the training period has been extended to 10 months. From September 2026, driving lessons and the study of traffic rules are also planned to be included in the school curriculum.
