Deputy Erkeaiym Seitkazieva raised the issue of the possibility of opening a new livestock market in the Issyk-Ata district.

At the meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on Agricultural Policy on February 9, she noted that the market in Tokmok had been closed, while a new one was opened in the Kemin district.

She emphasized: "The market in Kemin is located 90 km away from Issyk-Ata, and similarly in Kara-Balta. This is very far."

Bakyt Torobaev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, responded that the issue of opening the market falls under the jurisdiction of local authorities.

He explained: "If sanitary conditions are met, then opening is possible. We only monitor compliance with the requirements. As for the closure of the market in Tokmok, we issued an order and even offered financial assistance to eliminate violations. However, despite our warnings, nothing was done for a year, so the market closed."

Torobaev added that currently there are 48 livestock markets operating in the country, and some of them do not meet the necessary standards.

"We will close such markets; I want to make this warning," he concluded.
