Today, at a meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on agricultural issues, water resources, and ecology, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry Bakyt Torobaev confirmed that "all livestock markets that do not meet established requirements will be closed."

This comment was a response to the statement made by Deputy Erkeaiym Seitkazieva, who pointed out the need to open a new livestock market in the Issyk-Ata district.

Seitkazieva noted that the existing market was moved from Tokmok to Kemin, which creates inconveniences for residents of the Issyk-Ata district, located 90 kilometers away from both cities—Kemin and Kara-Balta.

According to Torobaev, the livestock market in Tokmok was closed due to the owner's failure to comply with sanitary standards.

"Although we provided a year to address the shortcomings and offered assistance, the situation did not improve, and we made the decision to close it. There are 48 livestock markets operating in the republic, and most of them also do not meet the requirements. We are giving advance notice of plans to close them. As for the creation of new livestock markets, this depends on local authorities. If they provide the necessary conditions, we are ready to offer support," he added.
