In light of the recent resignation of the chairman of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic (GKNB), the agency reports certain attempts by interested parties to discredit national security bodies. This is stated in the official statement of the GKNB.
The agency emphasized that the interpretations and statements being circulated are one-sided, which may undermine citizens' trust in state structures.
“Employees of national security agencies are subordinate to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Kyrgyz Republic,” the statement notes.The GKNB also stated that its activities are carried out in strict accordance with the Constitution and the laws of the country. Based on the principles of legality and objectivity, the agency is making efforts to ensure security, protect constitutional order, the rights and freedoms of citizens, as well as to counter terrorism, extremism, and corruption.
“We are confident that all questions and doubts should be discussed only within the legal framework, based on facts and verified data. Attempts to undermine the reputation of state bodies without credible evidence harm not only the specific agency but also the overall level of trust in society,” the GKNB added.The agency called on the public, the media, and high-ranking officials to refrain from harsh criticism of the employees of the GKNB of the Kyrgyz Republic, who diligently and responsibly fulfill their duties.
The GKNB also assured that the work to ensure the security of the country will continue consistently and in the interests of the people and the state.
