The Story of One Family: A Policeman from Kichi-Kemin Invited a Girl to Drink Shorpo by the Cauldron, and This Became Fateful in Her Life
They were born on the same day and even at the same time.
32-year-old Karina, in a conversation with a Turmush correspondent, shared that she is known as Karina, but in documents, she is registered as Kaiyrman. She is one of the twins.
Karina was born in the village of Don-Alysh in the Kochkor district of Naryn region. “In our family, there are five children, I am the youngest, and I have four older sisters. I work as a primary school teacher in Kichi-Kemin. My husband Dastan, 36 years old, is from the village of Kichi-Kemin, he previously served in the police but is now retired. We live with his parents, as he is the youngest in the family,” she says.
Dastan and Karina got married on January 5, 2013. “At that time, I was working as a cook and was acquainted with his cousin, who asked for help in preparing food for the guests. This was my first visit to Kichi-Kemin, where I saw my future husband. His sister hadn’t mentioned him before. We were making manti for the guests, and his mother jokingly said, ‘If my son doesn’t have a girlfriend, we would take you as a daughter-in-law.’ I didn’t pay much attention to it, as I thought he already had a girlfriend. That evening, he offered me some shorpo. I agreed and went to the cauldron. He asked for my login in ‘Mail.Ru Agent,’ saw my birth date, and was surprised: ‘Your birthday is February 12?!’ It turned out that he was born on the same day,” she recalls.
The next day, Karina left her number in ‘Agent,’ although she rarely used it. A few days later, after connecting a number from another operator, she received a call from Dastan from a number that turned out to be similar to hers. “We met in November 2012, and a month later, his family came to propose. On December 15, I became a daughter-in-law in Kichi-Kemin, and the wedding took place on January 5, 2013,” she recounts.
According to Karina, many people do not believe that she and her husband have the same birthday. “To this day, many ask if it’s true. I never thought I would celebrate my birthday on the same day as my future husband. Moreover, he was born on February 12 at 07:30, just like me. When someone starts asking us if we really celebrate on the same day, we respond that we were even born at the same time. We have many pleasant memories from our family life. For example, once I decided to make candies for my husband, but everything went wrong, and we had to throw away the failed experiment. What I like about Dastan is his cheerful character and patience. In my childhood, I always dreamed that my future husband would be a policeman and the youngest in the family, and that came true. I want to remind the youth of the proverb ‘Sabyryndyn tubu sary altyn.’ It means that patience is the key to success. We want to raise our children with good moral values. In my free time, I love to draw,” she shares.
The couple has two children — a son and a daughter.
