In the village of Kök-Tash, located in the rural district of Sumbula in the Leilek region, local residents, with the help of ashar, have built a road to the territory of the State Natural Park "Sarkent".

According to the chairman of the village council, Kalykul Kenzhebaev, about 3 million soms were raised to implement this initiative.

He added that during the Soviet era, there was a road leading to "Sarkent," but over time it was forgotten. Now, with the support of local residents, a 17-kilometer road has been restored.

K. Kenzhebaev added that there is no irrigation water in the village of Kök-Tash, and there are also problems with drinking water. The need to bring water through "Sarkent" poses difficulties, as it was challenging to reach there on horseback or by donkey, complicating the demonstration of water sources for visiting officials. Therefore, the residents decided to build the road first so that the government could then address the water supply project.

"If the project is implemented, it will allow for the development of about 10,000 hectares of land. Currently, there are 4,137 people living in the village in more than 750 households," he concluded.
