Additionally, the initiators emphasize the new training format, which will now last for 10 months. However, for those who have trained in driving schools, the minimum training period is set at 4 months. Successfully passing the qualification exams grants the right to obtain temporary national driver's licenses.
In case of failure, the temporary licenses will be revoked, and the driver will be required to undergo retraining at a state driving school for the remaining six months of the course.
According to the new draft, candidates will be able to obtain a national driver's license if they do not have three or more traffic violations.
Furthermore, temporary licenses lose their validity:
- upon the issuance of a national driver's license;
- upon expiration of the validity period;
- in case of circumstances that terminate the right to operate vehicles in accordance with the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Temporary driver's licenses will be valid for one year from the date of issuance, and extension of this period is not provided.When obtaining national licenses, temporary licenses must be returned to the authorized body.
If the resolution is signed, the sample of the temporary national driver's license will be approved by the State Center for Registration of Vehicles and Drivers. It can be issued in both paper and electronic form through an automated information system.
