Nadyrbekov explained that the closure of the libraries was a consequence of their inefficiency, poor condition of the buildings, and actual non-functionality at the time the decision was made. After these changes, the total number of libraries in the country was reduced to 846, and the staff consists of 3,455 people.
The Deputy Minister also noted that digitalization had been carried out in some libraries. In particular, the National Electronic Library portal NEB.KG was launched, providing access to resources in electronic format.
Furthermore, he announced the start of creating regional websites. In the first phase, the resource narynlib.kg was launched, and the formation of electronic catalogs for each library began. Online reporting and Google Forms were implemented, which will significantly simplify the library management process,” he added.
