Athletes of the Kyrgyz Republic won more than 800 medals in 2025


In 2025, the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports of the Kyrgyz Republic noted a significant increase in international activity and the growing popularity of mass sports in the country. Kyrgyz national teams participated in 230 international tournaments, and 147 training camps were organized for athlete preparation. A total of 166 sports events of various levels were held within the republic. One of the most significant events was the World Sambo Championship, which took place in Bishkek.

On international stages, Kyrgyz athletes won 846 medals, including 267 gold, 234 silver, and 345 bronze. Prizes were earned at major competitions such as the Islamic Games, Asian Games, World Championships, and the Deaflympics. For their outstanding achievements, 174 athletes received state scholarships ranging from 20,000 to 60,000 soms. In total, 1 billion 163 million soms were allocated for the development of sports in 2025, of which 20 million were directed towards the purchase of equipment for regional sports schools.

The agency also focused on mass sports. As part of the "School League" project in football, basketball, and volleyball, 2,030 teams from 2,700 schools across the republic participated in the competitions. Additionally, the final of the "I am a Champion" project in 12 sports was held in the Chui region. A total of 8,366 mass events were organized in Kyrgyzstan, involving more than 428,000 people. The agency noted that the main priorities for the future remain the expansion of international presence and the active promotion of physical culture among the population.
