"Parents should take the health of their children seriously"
On the air of "Birinchi Radio," the sanitary doctor from the Department of Disease Prevention and State Sanitary-Epidemiological Surveillance, Maria Kushubakova, noted that schoolchildren should not adhere to fasting.
She emphasized that a growing body requires all essential nutrients: trace elements, vitamins, proteins, fats, and carbohydrates. In conditions of significant energy expenditure, proper nutrition becomes especially important. "Under no circumstances should a child be forced to fast. Parents must take their children's health seriously. Schoolchildren, as a rule, do not yet understand what conscious choice means and do not have enough maturity to make decisions related to religion and personal beliefs. These aspects are characteristic of older individuals. That is why we, medical professionals, are against this," she added.
