Maria Kushubakova, a sanitary doctor from the Department of Disease Prevention, appeared on "Birinchi Radio," where she expressed her opinion on school uniforms.

Recall that Deputy Dastan Bekeshev is proposing to reconsider the requirements for school dress codes. In his opinion, many educational institutions focus on appearance rather than the quality of education. Bekeshev asked the Ministry of Education and the Cabinet of Ministers to allow schools to adapt the requirements for uniforms themselves or to make changes to the relevant regulations. In response, he was informed that a classic style of clothing helps to form discipline and reduces social differences among students.

Kushubakova also emphasized that the style of clothing for students should be businesslike and secular. "This is important, as we are a secular state, and the uniform should not highlight religious symbols or associations. School clothing should not have provocative elements, such as ripped jeans or other trendy attributes," she said.

According to her, many parents and students advocate for the freedom to choose clothing rather than a uniform. "In school, students prefer variety in clothing. Currently, styles such as boho — wide pants and hoodies are popular, and this does not always contribute to proper posture. Clothing affects the self-esteem and psychological state of both students and adults. Comfortable clothing, chosen according to taste, promotes positive emotions," noted the sanitary doctor.

Kushubakova also added that the state does not currently impose strict requirements for school uniforms.

She emphasized that an important issue remains the choice of fabrics. "Parents often choose clothing based on price, preferring cheaper options; however, such clothing often contains a lot of synthetic materials. We recommend choosing clothes made from natural fabrics, such as cotton or wool. Although natural fabrics may be more expensive, it is important to consider the health of children, as comfortable clothing allows them to focus on their studies. If the clothing is uncomfortable, it can be distracting and cause nervousness," she added.

Furthermore, Kushubakova highlighted that clothing should fit properly. "Parents usually buy clothes with room to grow, which can also cause discomfort for the child. Therefore, it is important to choose clothing that fits and to prefer natural materials. It is not worth saving on children's clothing," she concluded.
