In recent years, the Republican Center for Health Promotion and Mass Communication of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic has noted that among schoolchildren (aged 7 to 17), the practice of observing the orozо fast has become quite fashionable. However, medical specialists strongly warn against this approach, citing several valid reasons:
Negative health consequences:
At this stage of their development, children are in a critically important period of both physical and emotional growth. Observing a fast can disrupt their usual eating and sleeping patterns, which in turn affects their health and well-being.
Deterioration of academic performance:
Lack of food and sleep can significantly reduce levels of concentration, attention, and learning ability, negatively impacting their academic performance.
Increased stress and nervousness:
Insufficient nutrition and sleep can provoke stress in children, leading to irritability, nervousness, and a decline in overall emotional state.
Decreased immune protection:
Inadequate nutrition and lack of sleep can weaken the immune system, making children more susceptible to infections and other diseases.
Risks to physical health:
A prolonged period without food and water can pose a serious threat to children's health, especially if they are left unsupervised by adults.
