The Jogorku Kenesh has noted the shortage of psychologists in schools

Starting from the new academic year, the training of psychologist-educators will begin.

During a meeting of the committee on science, education, innovative development, and information technologies, culture, sports, and youth affairs, deputy Gulsharkan Kultaeva raised an important issue regarding the shortage of psychologists in schools.

She appealed to representatives of the relevant ministries to consider the possibility of increasing the number of school psychologists.

Deputy Minister of Finance Zhibek Duyshieva, responding to the question, reported that a draft resolution had been developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Education.

“Despite having all the necessary permits, the staff shortage remains relevant. Therefore, a decision has been made to work in stages at the district level depending on the training and availability of specialists, with subsequent distribution among educational institutions,” she added.

In addition, Deputy Minister of Science, Higher Education, and Innovation Durus Kozoev noted that universities have faculties and departments engaged in training specialists in the field of "Psychology".

“Nevertheless, there has been a recent shortage of qualified psychologists. Therefore, this issue is receiving special attention, and starting this year, new training profiles for psychologist-educators will be introduced,” he concluded.
