The deputy believes that shooting animals is a cruel method
At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, deputy Gulya Kozhokulova raised an important issue regarding the shooting of stray dogs in Bishkek.
She noted that many residents of the capital are concerned about the legality of this process.
“Many city dwellers show special care for animals, and they have serious questions. What is the legality of Tazalyk's actions regarding the shooting of stray dogs? Why is 4 to 7 million soms allocated annually from the city budget for shooting? Why are these funds not directed towards sterilization, capture, or the creation of shelters?” — emphasized Kozhokulova.
In addition, she appealed to her fellow deputies of the city kenesh, who consider and approve budget allocations for what she believes is a “cruel method of dealing with animals.”
Gulya Kozhokulova also called on the city prosecutor's office to conduct an investigation into the legality of the actions of the services involved in the shooting of stray animals.
