At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh on March 18, Deputy Gulya Kozhokulova expressed concern about the fate of the House of Artists, stating that its preservation should be a priority.

She noted: "This is an important aspect for the spiritual and creative development of society. I appeal to the Cabinet of Ministers with a request for urgent intervention. The creative intelligentsia has already held a rally. How could the Ministry of Culture be unaware of the situation with the land plot? This object has historical value and is located in the center of the capital. We must do everything possible to preserve it. We cannot allow barbaric treatment of such objects. Many cultural monuments have already been destroyed in Bishkek, including the famous mosaic. The art of our artists should be in the spotlight — this is our path to spiritual development," Kozhokulova said.

She also mentioned that among the artists who grew up in the House of Artists were masters such as Chuyko, Chokmorov, and Aitieva.

"We must preserve this object in its original form, as it is a treasure of our people. This is something we should be proud of," the deputy added, expressing dissatisfaction with the work of the city administration.

"The city administration is constantly lagging behind in addressing important issues. This could have been discussed and clarified in advance, but we only learn about it after the fact. Why do the city authorities not have proper explanatory work? They should act proactively, not just react to emerging problems," she emphasized.

Seyidbek Atambaev also raised the issue of transferring the House of Artists to the Presidential Administration, demanding clarification on the legal grounds for such actions. According to him, this object has a 90-year history, and about 500 members of the Union of Artists express dissatisfaction with what is happening.

Artists previously reported their intention to annul the lease agreement for the land plot, as a result of which they may lose the House of Artists located at 108 Chuy Avenue, which they learned about through social media.

According to information from the Presidential Administration, the land plots are needed to create favorable conditions for attracting investments, implementing various projects, as well as for the comprehensive development and harmonization of the architectural appearance of Bishkek's infrastructure.
