In the Lenin district of Bishkek, preparations for the celebration of Nowruz began with the preparation of sumolek, initiated by the 102nd municipal territorial administration.

Sumolek is boiled for 12 hours, after which it is covered and left for 4–5 hours, and only after that can it be opened.

“Each time, while adding ingredients and performing any work, wishes are pronounced. People wish for peace, prosperity, sufficiency, and abundance,” she noted.

“Today is a special day for us. We are excited and hope to continue this tradition annually, teaching young girls this craft,” Kasymova added. It is worth noting that other regions of the country are also actively preparing sumolek for the Nowruz holiday.
