In the Kochkor district of the Naryn region, as well as throughout the country, an important agricultural census is taking place from March 20 to April 10, 2026.

According to information provided by Jakshylyk uulu Zamirbek, head of the district department of state statistics, this initiative is being implemented on the recommendation of the UN Statistical Commission. This year, the census is being conducted for the first time in a fully electronic format, which is a significant step in the country's history.

The main objectives of the census are as follows:

- to obtain accurate and objective data on the state of the agricultural sector;

- to ensure that statistical data meets international standards;

- to create a basis for making informed decisions in the field of agricultural policy.

The census covers all participants in agricultural production: state and collective farms, farmer and peasant households, as well as individual entrepreneurs and owners of gardens and vegetable plots. Information collection on land use will be carried out solely based on documented data regarding land categories and property rights.

Registrars will have special badges with unique QR codes that certify their authority.

The Kochkor district has significant agricultural potential, which is emphasized by the organizational structure of the census:

- The population is 70,850 people (12,187 households);

- Coverage includes 5 rural districts and 35 populated areas;

- For conducting the census, 2 coordination departments, 9 instructional areas, and 44 registration sites have been established.

The data obtained will serve as the basis for developing master plans for regional development and forming a long-term food security strategy at the national level.
