Lack of traffic lights, street lighting, and video surveillance: What was discussed at the meetings in the Batken region

In the Batken region, Colonel of Police Ulan Zhukenov, head of the internal affairs department, held a series of meetings with local residents, reports Turmush correspondent.

These meetings, which took place from March 24 to 29 of this year, were organized to create an open dialogue between the population and law enforcement agencies of Kyrgyzstan, as well as to increase the level of transparency in police work.

Initially, Colonel Zhukenov met with residents of the Leilek district and the city of Suluktu. He shared information about the measures being taken to prevent crime, the work of local police officers, and the support provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He also talked about new buildings that have been constructed and put into operation, as well as digital services available to citizens. There were no negative comments about the police's work in these localities.

At the meeting with residents of the Kadamjai district, important issues regarding road safety were discussed, and some of them were resolved immediately.

In Kyzyl-Kiya, residents suggested improving lighting in certain areas of the city and installing video cameras to enhance security.

During discussions with residents of the city of Batken and the Batken district, social issues, problems of cybercrime, regulation of labor migrants' activities, issues concerning hunters, and, in particular, the lack of traffic lights were also addressed.

Overall, there were no expressions of dissatisfaction regarding the police's work during the meetings with the population of the Batken region.
