
The country has seen a 5.2% decrease in the total number of crimes
At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Prosecutor General Maksat Asanaliev presented a report on crime in Kyrgyzstan for the past year.
According to him, in 2024, 34,467 crimes were recorded in the country, which is 5.2% less compared to the previous year.
Of the total number of crimes, 29,168 fall into the category of minor and medium severity, 4,197 are serious, and 1,102 are particularly serious.
The most common crimes were against private property, accounting for 23,572 cases, which is 68.4% of the total. Crimes against individuals amounted to 3,830 cases (11.1%).
A total of 22,340 individuals were recognized as involved in committing crimes. Of these, 12,851 were brought to criminal responsibility, while criminal prosecution was terminated in 9,480 cases.
Among the accused are 2,801 women, 1,814 children, and 412 foreign citizens,” noted the Prosecutor General.
