The Congress of Women of Kyrgyzstan has completed the summary of its work for the past year and outlined action plans until 2026.

The Assembly of Women of Kyrgyzstan unites over 500,000 determined participants who, using their knowledge and energy, strive to improve society and make a positive contribution to the development of the country. The president of the congress, Zamira Akbagysheva, noted that over the past year, more than 50,000 women from all corners of the country have joined the organization. This confirms the authority and influence of the congress, as well as the unity of women around important issues and tasks that contribute to the development of Kyrgyzstan. The congress has become an important platform for women's interaction and discussion of relevant state issues.

The meeting was attended by diplomats, representatives of international organizations collaborating with the congress, as well as women leaders from various professions, including regional branches. Participants shared about the projects and initiatives implemented over the past year.

The congress aims to create favorable conditions for women in Kyrgyzstan so that they can realize their potential in various fields. For example, a few years ago, a project called "Educated Woman - Educated Country" was launched in Bishkek with the support of the Chinese embassy. As emphasized by its initiator, Zamira Akbagysheva, access to education is the first step in the fight against poverty and inequality, which is crucial for women's independence and achieving gender equality. The program has proven to be in demand and continues to evolve, as the demand for knowledge in various fields remains strong.

Within this project, a center for training sewing specialists was opened, equipped with the help of the Chinese embassy and the All-China Women's Federation. During its operation, hundreds of young women have received education and employment, some of whom have even started their own businesses. The head of the center noted that its popularity is growing, and last year, applications from women wishing to master this profession were received.

Another important direction was the opening of an IT classroom at the Institute of History and Regional Studies of the Jusup Balasagyn Kyrgyz National University for women wishing to study information technology. During the V International Forum of Turkic Peoples, in which the congress actively participated, Chinese Ambassador Liu Jiangping presented laptops for the opening of IT classroom branches in the regions. Currently, free computer literacy courses are being held there.

The Congress of Women is also actively working with women entrepreneurs. Zamira Akbagysheva noted that over 40% of small enterprises in the country are managed by women. An analysis of the situation showed that they seek to unite and obtain information about support measures, as well as to work at the international level. The congress assists them in this by establishing business contacts during trips to Italy and Germany, including cooperation with the well-known sportswear brand "Macron," which became possible thanks to a tender for selecting a production partner in Kyrgyzstan.

In October of last year, a forum titled "Partnership for Sustainable Economic Development" was held in Bishkek, organized by the Congress of Women of the Kyrgyz Republic and the women's community of the State Corporation "Rosatom." This dialogue confirmed that women's partnership is a powerful driving force for development. Women from Kyrgyzstan and Russia, using their professional potential, are ready to become an important force for the sustainable development of both economies. The head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Temir Sariev, noted that women know how to set priorities and bravely enter business despite difficulties.

At the end of October, a conference was held in Bishkek dedicated to the results of the Global Women's Summit in Beijing, where Zamira Akbagysheva represented the women's community of Kyrgyzstan. Upon her return, she organized a conference to discuss the significance of the summit and its recommendations for the development of the women's movement. Opinions on this issue were expressed by diplomats and representatives of international organizations.

The Congress of Women of Kyrgyzstan, which has been in existence for over 30 years, actively works on important issues of women's entrepreneurship, cultural and educational projects, facilitating the unification of efforts to achieve socio-economic progress. The results of the congress's work are already noticeable, and in the future, they may become even more significant with the support of the authorities. The plans for the current year look promising.

- This year, Kyrgyzstan will chair the SCO, and the summit will take place in the capital in August. As part of the presidency, a forum for women of SCO countries is planned, in the organization of which the Congress of Women will play an active role. We will not let you down, as our women are capable of achieving success in any endeavor, - said Zamira Akbagysheva, which elicited enthusiastic applause from the participants.

- Our strategic goal this year, as before, is to support the self-realization of women. Every woman in Kyrgyzstan wants to be in demand and to grow. We are ready to assist in retraining and employment, and we will also pay attention to preserving women's health. It is important for our women to feel protected and to know that we represent a positive force.

Zamira Akbagysheva highlighted key issues that are at the center of the congress's attention — care for older women, mothers of many children, and expanding international cooperation to create projects in support of women.

- Our main goal is to unite efforts and successful initiatives in the interests of every woman in our country. The strength of the congress lies in our women's solidarity, - concluded the president of the Congress of Women of Kyrgyzstan, Zamira Akbagysheva.
