Andriyan Grigoryevich Nikolayev (September 5, 1929 – July 3, 2004) became the third Soviet cosmonaut and the fifth person in the world to visit space. He was twice awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union and held the rank of Major General of Aviation.
It is known that Nikolayev visited the collective farm as an honorary guest during Karypbai Kurmanov's leadership, although the exact date of his visit remains unknown. It is assumed that this could have happened after his first space flight.
Knowing about the astronauts' love for speed, the locals gifted Nikolayev one of their fastest horses. There is an opinion that during his second flight into space, reflecting on his loved ones and how they anxiously followed his prolonged absence, he warmly recalled the friendly reception he received from his Kyrgyz colleagues.
Nikolayev's friends say that they thought about him every moment. After his successful return to Earth, a telegram was immediately sent from the residents of Sın-Tash expressing their feelings and support,” shared K. Almanbetova.
