According to data presented by the World Population Review, Turkmenistan has been recognized as the most sober country among the CIS countries. This portal has compiled a study that identifies both the most drinking and the most sober nations in the world.

The report mentions that in Central Asia, due to Islamic traditions, the population is more restrained in their consumption of alcohol.

Among the CIS countries, the highest alcohol consumption is observed in Moldova (14.1 liters), Belarus (11.4 liters), and Russia (10.5 liters).
