To meet the needs, it is necessary to ensure supplies from abroad
At a meeting of the parliamentary committee, Deputy Minister of Energy Altynbek Rysbekov reported that Kyrgyzstan will continue to import electricity in 2026.
According to him, the electricity deficit is approximately 4.5 billion kWh.
“Kyrgyzstan produces 14.5 billion kWh annually. Consumption continues to grow. Last year, we compensated for the electricity shortage through imports, which amounted to 4.3 billion kWh. This year, we intend to continue imports. Electricity is supplied to the population at a social tariff, and the difference is covered by NESK,” Rysbekov noted.
