A criminal case has been initiated in Bishkek on suspicion of corruption involving several officials of the city hall and leaders of contracting organizations.
According to the press service of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB), in 2015, the Bishkek city hall received 22 million euros from a lending organization for a project aimed at improving the material and technical base. These funds were intended for the purchase of special equipment, including bulldozers, loaders, and garbage trucks, as well as for the design and construction of a landfill for the municipal enterprise "Tazalyk" and the municipal enterprise "Bishkek Sanitary Landfill".
An audit of public procurement revealed that the preliminary damage to the budget from the improper use of these loan funds amounts to approximately 182 million soms.
On January 12, within the framework of the initiated criminal case, classified under Article 336 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic (corruption), investigative actions were carried out, resulting in the detention of former Vice Mayor of Bishkek S.R.A., former director of the municipal enterprise "Bishkek Sanitary Landfill" A.A.Z., as well as the leaders of contracting companies I.V.R. and A.N.B.
By court decision, according to Article 96 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, they were placed in the temporary detention facility of the GKNB.
