The bill on reforming the medical insurance system has been successfully adopted in the third reading
In the Jogorku Kenesh, a bill concerning amendments to the Law "On Medical Insurance of Citizens in the Kyrgyz Republic" has been approved. This document aims to provide patients with clear and detailed information about the medical services offered under compulsory health insurance (CHI).
According to the new legislation, medical institutions are now required to provide insured citizens with complete information about the services available to them, the conditions for obtaining them, and the quality level. This innovation will help people to be aware of their rights in advance and reduce misunderstandings when seeking medical assistance.
Furthermore, the changes in the law increase the responsibility of medical institutions, including hospitals and clinics, for informing their patients. It is expected that these measures will make the healthcare system more transparent and improve the quality of medical services.
The justification for the bill states that currently more than 5 million citizens of Kyrgyzstan are insured under the CHI system, and the Compulsory Health Insurance Fund collaborates with 145 medical institutions across the country. The adoption of this law is aimed at protecting patients' rights and improving access to medical care.
