On the eve of the Day of the Complete Liberation of Leningrad from the fascist blockade, a memorial event called "Spark of Hope" took place in Kant.

Representatives of the city administration, employees of the Chui Regional Library, schoolchildren, and military personnel from the Russian aviation base gathered at the monument to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War.

During the event, participants lit candles in honor of those who did not return from the war and honored the memory of the fallen with a moment of silence. The music of Dmitri Shostakovich's 7th Symphony, created in besieged Leningrad, resonated as a symbol of the courage and resilience of the people.

It has been 82 years since Leningrad was fully liberated from the blockade, which lasted 872 days and brought suffering and loss to the city's residents.

Participants of the event noted that the memory of the blockade is not just a date on the calendar, but an important reminder of the price of Victory that must be passed on to future generations.

Today, only 11 blockade survivors remain in Kyrgyzstan, of whom nine live in Bishkek.
