At a meeting of the committee on labor, health, women's affairs, and social issues of the Jogorku Kenesh, the intention of the Ministry of Health to optimize the work of state laboratories was announced. Deputy Minister of Health Aibek Matkerimov reported this during the discussion of the draft law "On Medical Insurance for Citizens in the Kyrgyz Republic."

In response to questions from deputies about the creation of accessible state laboratories with prices for services and tests lower than those in private clinics, he noted that work in this direction is already underway.

According to Matkerimov, the Ministry plans to begin the construction of state laboratories in major cities and regional centers. The main goal of this initiative is to create competition with private medical institutions and to increase the accessibility of medical services for the population. Some state institutions currently have expensive equipment; however, the number of services performed on it is minimal, making its maintenance too costly, especially in conditions of a shortage of specialists.

“We aim to create centralized state laboratories in cities. Services for insured citizens will be provided free of charge, while for uninsured individuals, they will be offered at lower prices than in private clinics,” the deputy minister added.
