Today, the morning in parliament began not with the usual discussion of bills, but with a discussion about new cars. The parking lot in front of the Jogorku Kenesh was filled with deputies, who arrived one after another in new official cars received the day before.

This year, the cars were presented in black and have the distinctive smell of newness. Most deputies refrained from commenting on the replacement of the fleet.

According to available information, no drivers have been assigned to the new official cars, and parliamentarians will have to hire them independently. Additionally, all expenses for the maintenance and software of the cars will be borne by the deputies who signed documents of material responsibility for the provided transport.

As previously reported, all 87 deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh received new cars. Although the brands are not disclosed, it is known that these are mid-range models priced between $30,000 and $50,000.

In April 2025, the issue of acquiring Li Xiang L7 and L9 crossovers for the leadership of factions and committees was also considered. The Presidential Administration then confirmed the purchase but refused to disclose the cost.

Now it is clear that the fleet has been completely updated, and deputies have begun using the new cars.

Against the backdrop of ongoing criticism of government procurement expenditures and public demands for transparency, the cost of new cars for parliamentarians, judging by reactions on social media, will again become a subject of active discussion. However, official data on the cost of the supply is currently unavailable.

The parliamentary session started on time, but questions regarding the fleet seem to be just beginning.
