Deputy Dastan Bekeshev expressed concern on his Telegram channel regarding the Ministry of Defense's intentions to increase fees for alternative service by 50%. He noted that such measures could negatively affect low-income citizens.

“Poor people are already in a difficult financial situation. An increase in fees will ultimately impact their well-being,” the MP emphasized.

It was previously reported that currently, the fees for those undergoing alternative service due to family circumstances amount to 18,000 soms, while for those recognized as limited due to health reasons, it is 25,000 soms. The proposed bill suggests raising these amounts to 25,000 and 50,000 soms, respectively. Similarly, it is planned to increase the payment from 25,000 to 50,000 soms for citizens who are part of religious organizations that do not permit the use of weapons and service in the Armed Forces.

According to information from the Ministry of Defense, the current rates were established in 2017, and changes are proposed taking into account economic growth and inflation.
