Officials trust the Coca-Cola brand more than the complaints of Bishkek residents

Local residents of the Lenin district living on Lushchikhina Street have reached out to deputy Zhyldyz Sadyrbaeva with a concerned request due to the constant unpleasant odor emanating from the factory. Despite the complaints, the government is confident that "Coca-Cola" does not produce any odors. The deputy raised this issue in the Jogorku Kenesh, emphasizing that the factory was built in violation of sanitary norms, and its fence is closely adjacent to residential houses.

Deputy Prime Minister Daniyar Amangeldiev, for his part, did not initiate an investigation into the situation but stated that the factory was built before the houses appeared. He effectively took on the role of defender of the company, claiming that as an international brand, "Coca-Cola" strictly adheres to environmental standards and cannot cause harm.

This raises the question: why is Amangeldiev so fervently defending the interests of "Coca-Cola"? Instead of addressing the reasons behind the local residents' complaints about the unpleasant odor, the official refers to the brand's reputation. It seems that if a company is well-known and financially powerful, it should not be scrutinized? Citizens submit complaints, but receive only references to "global standards" and concern for the environment in return. It is unclear why the interests of business appear to be more important to the official than the concerns of ordinary citizens.
