Regarding the elections themselves, we note that President Sadyr Nurgozhoevich was elected under the old Constitution. After the new law was adopted in 2021, one candidate can serve two terms of five years each. His first term lasts six years, and the elections are scheduled for January 2027. There are currently no discussions about early elections in the Jogorku Kenesh.
Dastan Bekeshev: I believe that the likelihood of early elections exists and is quite high. This could happen either at the end of the year or in the spring. Summer elections are unlikely due to upcoming events such as the SCO and the Games of Nomads. In April or May, it might be feasible. It is worth noting that Tashiev himself has said he does not plan to participate in the elections, and I trust him.
Kubanychbek Samakov: Everything should happen in accordance with the law and the Constitution, which outlines all the necessary rules. According to Article 66, the president can be elected for two consecutive terms of five years, but the current president was elected for six years under the old Constitution. At the same time, the new law states that the term of the current president is considered the first. Therefore, Sadyr Japarov has the right to run for a second term, but it will be for five years, as we are acting under the new Constitution.
As for Kamchybek Kydyrshaevich's participation, I do not know. It will depend on the people's opinion; his intentions are unknown to me.
Gulya Kozhokulova: Early elections can, in principle, be held, as the Constitution allows for this. The new election law also distinguishes between regular and extraordinary elections. There is no prohibition, but there must be grounds. I have not heard discussions on this topic and have not participated in them.

Marlen Mamataliyev: In the VII convocation, we adopted a bill that clearly states the date of the presidential elections — January 24, 2027. All lawyers agree that this is the correct decision, not contradicting the Constitution and other laws. The only question is whether we will take into account the circumstances that may affect the elections. In theory, early elections are possible if it is necessary to change the legislation. But if there are no obstacles for the current president, then we will wait for the approved date.
