At a recent meeting in Osh, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Adylbek Kasymaliev, called for an end to discussions regarding the division of the country into north and south.

“There should be no division into ‘north-south,’ and such conversations are unacceptable,” he emphasized.

Kasymaliev reminded that the president has also voiced the need for regional integration. The authorities intend to promote unity through the implementation of educational and personnel initiatives.

According to him, next year a program will be launched for the construction of social facilities, as well as student exchanges between regions.

“We plan to change the approach. As part of the student exchange, 5,000 students will study in the south and from the south — in the north,” he added.

In addition, Kasymaliev noted that changes will also affect civil servants: “We will be changing employees who have worked in one place for a long time,” he reported.

These measures, in his opinion, are aimed at strengthening the unity of the country, improving governance, and eliminating regional imbalances.
