On February 17, a telephone conversation took place between the presidents of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, initiated by the Kazakh side. This was reported by the administrative service for the information policy of the president.

During the conversation, the heads of state discussed key aspects of Kyrgyz-Kazakh relations, including the implementation of previously reached agreements in the areas of trade, transport, energy, industrial cooperation, and water resource management.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev informed about the current constitutional changes in Kazakhstan aimed at creating a sustainable foundation for future progress. Sadyr Japarov expressed his support for these reforms, including the idea of a unicameral parliament, and wished success in holding a nationwide referendum.

The leaders discussed the need for a constructive approach to resolving all issues based on trust and traditional friendship, which creates a reliable platform for further development of multilateral cooperation. They also exchanged views on internal political reforms and discussed regional and international topics, as well as planned joint activities in a multilateral format.
