Trump imposed an additional 10% tariff on all global imports

U.S. President Donald Trump announced the introduction of a new 10% tariff on all imports, marking the next step in the trade conflict. This measure adds to the existing customs duties.

This decision was announced on February 20 and was a response to a recent ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court, which deemed the administration's actions to impose tariffs in 2025 illegal. The justices noted that Trump exceeded his authority by applying the national emergency law without Congressional approval.

In response to this ruling, Trump harshly criticized the judges, claiming they are influenced by foreign interests. Despite the legal setback, he assured that all tariffs imposed for the purpose of national security would remain in effect.

The president also announced the initiation of several investigations aimed at confirming the necessity of implementing protectionist measures. Thus, the administration continues to demonstrate its readiness to tighten control over imports, despite resistance from the judiciary and demands to adhere to legislative procedures.
