He confirmed that the recording concerns his nephew
Bakyt Torobaev, who holds the position of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, provided a comment to "Azattyk" regarding the recently surfaced audio recording on social media.
According to him, the recording indeed mentions his nephew — Erkin Torobaev, who is the son of his biological brother.
Torobaev noted that Kamchybek Tashiev, the former chairman of the State Committee for National Security, approached him with a request to assist in the sale of a land plot belonging to his relative, located near the "Barcelona" academy in Manas, at a lower price.
“I don’t often communicate with my nephew, so to clarify the situation, I contacted my brother and asked: ‘I heard that Erkin has a plot, there is interest in buying it, can you connect us?’ After that, I did not inquire about the sale price or the terms of the deal. Recently, I learned that part of Erkin's property had allegedly been seized. To understand the situation, I simply called him and asked a few clarifying questions,” Torobaev said.
