The Cabinet banned the export of catalysts and precious metals for another six months

The government has decided to keep strategic resources within the country

A temporary ban on the export of used catalysts and waste containing precious metals has been introduced in Kyrgyzstan. This decision was made by the Cabinet of Ministers to prevent the illegal export of valuable resources and to ensure the preservation of strategic raw materials within the country.

According to the new decree, a six-month ban is imposed on the export of the following categories:

- used catalysts;
- slags, ashes, and other waste containing metals suitable only for recycling;
- residues of palladium, rhodium, and platinum obtained in the processing of catalysts;
- elements of exhaust systems (mufflers and pipes) if they contain catalysts.

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce, together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is required to notify the World Trade Organization, the Eurasian Economic Commission, and the Executive Committee of the CIS about the imposed ban within three days.

It should be noted that the previous similar decree, adopted on September 8, 2025, has lost its validity.

This ban will come into effect in seven days.
