He noted that the existing landfill in the village of Iskra is almost completely full, having reached 90% of its capacity.
“The leased area is 2.9 hectares; however, it is located on the windy side. In the event of a fire, the flames can spread quickly, posing a danger to both residents and the ecology of the region,” the deputy emphasized.
Sakkaraev added that options such as building a waste processing plant or finding a land plot for a new landfill in compliance with environmental standards should be considered.
