The former head of the State Service for Combating Economic Crimes and Corruption commented on rumors about 5 million dollars for his resignation
Syimyk Zhapikeev, the former chairman of the State Service for Combating Economic Crimes and Corruption (GSBEP), in a conversation with journalist Ernis Kyazov, answered the question of whether he received 5 million dollars for his resignation after the events of October 2020.
There were rumors that during his time in public service, Zhapikeev allegedly received 500 thousand dollars, a general's rank, and "ransom" of 5 million dollars, as well as a pension. However, he categorically denied these accusations.
Zhapikeev noted: "At one point, I needed 30 thousand dollars, but Sadyr Japarov could not help me. In the end, I received 10 thousand dollars from him as a grant. And about the 5 million dollars... How many naive people believe this. As if they were nearby and holding my hand. I am an honest person, and I do not ask for a dime," he stated.
Additionally, the former head of GSBEP reported that he does not receive a pension.
He explained: "For that, you need 20 years of service, and I was short by 10 months."
