
As a result of the abnormal heat in the Australian state of Victoria, wildfires have already destroyed over 300 thousand hectares of forest, and according to the Guardian, this disaster may continue for several more weeks.
According to previously reported data, one person has fallen victim to these wildfires, and hundreds of local residents have been left homeless. In response to the situation, the federal government of Australia, together with the authorities of Victoria, has allocated 19.5 million Australian dollars (approximately 13 million US dollars) to assist those affected.
As reported by the Guardian, at least 119 buildings have been destroyed as a result of the fires, and the area of burned forests has exceeded 300 thousand hectares. The fight against the flames continues, and the situation remains tense.
The Victoria State Control Center reported that as of Saturday, there were 67 active fires in the region, of which 10 are still spreading uncontrollably.
