Authorities want to ban the export of limestone-shell rock from Kyrgyzstan for six months.

The Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic has initiated a discussion on a draft resolution that proposes a temporary six-month ban on the export of limestone-shell rock, mined or produced in the country, beyond the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union.

This ban will apply to raw materials and products classified under the EAEU commodity codes 2515 11 000 0 and 2515 12 000 0, including unprocessed or roughly crushed limestone-shell rock, as well as cut blocks and slabs in rectangular or square shapes.

The draft contains the following main provisions:


The main goal of this document is to prevent the uncontrolled export of an important mineral resource, to preserve the resource base of the country, and to ensure the stability of supplies for the domestic market.
