The Economic Issues Commission of the CIS Economic Council will consider 9 issues at a meeting in Moscow.
The agenda is set to address 9 key issues:
1. The concept of Turkmenistan's presidency in the CIS in 2026;
2. A project on the main directions of cooperation among CIS member states in the field of management of radioactive waste, spent nuclear fuel, and the decommissioning of facilities related to nuclear and radiation hazards by 2030;
3. The issue of a basic organization of CIS countries focused on improving quality and business excellence, as well as developing professional skills of specialists in this area;
4. The awarding of the CIS Prize for 2025 for achievements in product and service quality;
5. The activities of the basic organization for scientific and scientific-technical publishing and periodicals;
6. A draft budget for income and expenses from extrabudgetary funds of the Interstate Statistical Committee of the CIS for 2026 within the framework of the "Development of CIS Statistics" project;
7. A draft work plan for the Commission on Economic Issues for 2026;
8. A draft agenda for the 109th meeting of the Economic Council of the CIS;
9. The date and draft agenda for the next meeting of the Commission on Economic Issues.
Additional Information:
The Economic Council of the CIS is the main executive body responsible for implementing agreements made within the Commonwealth, as well as decisions of the Council of Heads of State and Government regarding the formation and functioning of the free trade zone and socio-economic cooperation.
The Economic Council was established in April 1999.
The main tasks of the council include developing proposals for creating a system of mutual settlements and payments in trade and other operations, as well as establishing legal and economic conditions for deepening economic cooperation based on the free movement of goods, services, labor, and capital. Additionally, the council promotes the integration of CIS member states into the global economic system and addresses other issues.
