In 2025, the Bishkek city administration, in collaboration with the Scientific Research Institute of Prospective Urban Development, prepared a draft of the General Plan for the capital, covering the period until 2050. This document aims to define strategies for the city's development, taking into account demographic, environmental, and infrastructure factors, as reported by the capital's municipality materials.
The hearings dedicated to discussing the General Plan took place on December 24 and 25, 2025, in Bishkek.
Participants included representatives of the city administration, plan developers, relevant service employees, active citizens, as well as journalists, businesspeople, and representatives of government institutions. During the discussions, various proposals, comments, and recommendations regarding the further development of the capital were voiced.
