The mayor's office of the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, responded to residents' concerns about the fact that, under the general plan, Barpy Alykulov Street intersects already developed areas.
As explained by municipal representatives, the proposal to change the street's alignment was not taken into account. According to the general plan, Barpy Alykulov Street is designated as one of the main north-south thoroughfares of the city, which will duplicate Dooronbeka Sadyrbaeva Street and provide a connection to the bypass road.
The mayor's office noted that, given the shortage of available land plots, the implementation of this project is only possible through the expropriation and purchase of existing plots. The exact number of houses and lands to be demolished will be determined in the next stages of design.
