In his address to the leaders of the member states of the EAEU, published by the president's press service, Tokayev announced that agreements on a free trade zone with Mongolia and Indonesia, as well as on economic partnership with the United Arab Emirates, are planned to be signed in 2025.

The head of Kazakhstan emphasized that this reflects the real achievements of the joint work of the member countries of the union. He also added that in the future, the possibility of expanding EAEU interaction with countries of the Global South, Arab countries, Southeast Asia, and Africa, as well as with authoritative regional associations, should be considered.

Tokayev also noted the need to eliminate administrative barriers within the EAEU. He stressed that all artificial restrictions that hinder trade and the development of certain sectors, as well as obstacles to the movement of citizens and freight transport, should remain in the past. "Customs and other control measures should not be used as a means of pressure on the governments of the member states," he added.

Starting from January 1, 2026, Kazakhstan will take over the presidency in the bodies of the Eurasian Economic Union.
