Ekaterina Bivol will stand trial for insulting Kyrgyz and Kazakhs

Ekaterina Bivol, the ex-wife of famous boxer Dmitry Bivol, will face trial on charges of inciting interethnic hatred. The case will begin on January 29, 2026, at the Lenin District Court in St. Petersburg.

The case was initiated due to a video posted on a Telegram channel in October 2025. In it, employees of the Center for Countering Extremism (Center "E") found statements that, according to experts, insult the dignity of Kyrgyz and Kazakhs.

An administrative proceeding has been opened against Bivol, which could result in either a hefty fine or administrative arrest. It should be emphasized that this is not the first instance of legal proceedings involving Ekaterina, but this particular episode has attracted especially significant public attention due to its insulting remarks towards entire nations.
